New appointment for Dr. Ruslan Dmitriev

Dr. Ruslan Dmitriev, head of Metabolic Imaging Group was recently honoured to serve as local Ambassador of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB).

ASCB represents one of the largest societies in cell biology (>11,000 members worldwide) with primary mission to study the cell as fundamental unit of life.

The Society has major interests in improving the ways of assessing the research, addressing the key scientific policy issues, advocating increased research funding, supporting leadership and mentorship, and more.
ASCB is involved in number of activities supporting the research life of women in science, summer career development and education workshops, minorities’ affairs etc. It provides resources such as Career Advice for Life Scientists collection, recognizes outstanding members of community, supports individuals and groups with grants.

This year’s Annual Meeting will be jointly organized by ASCB and EMBO and will be held in Philadelphia, USA, on December 2-6. Be sure to check the exciting scientific program (covers bacterial infection and symbiosis, cell biology of neuron, cell cycle and death, cellular metabolism, RNA biology, multicellular interactions, tissues and organs and many other topics), career development resources and exhibitors and consider the participation in this meeting: poster abstract submission and travel award application deadlines are on August 31st.
